The Shantiniketan style evolved due to the Art Movement, and these products have now become world-famous for their appliqué, batik, and embossed craftwork. The process of burnishing the leather gives it an elegant sheen and brings out the colours. The major craft work is done by hand and is an intricate process. After the final leather is made, it is stitched into the desired product and coated with a lacquer finish to make the product shiny and long-lasting.
